Who are we?
We are Ecological Landscapes. A landscape company created by bringing together a team of professionals, with the aim of designing and building beautiful gardens and open spaces that have a reduced impact on the environment, and where possible enhancing the local environment.
Based in Hampshire and working through the South, the team includes designers, landscapers, traditional build tradesmen, horticulturalists, ecologists, and suppliers that have come together to start to change the practices currently used in landscaping. Designing and creating gardens and outside spaces that not only encourage a wider diversity of flora and fauna, but by also using materials that have a lower negative environmental impact locally, nationally and globally, adjusting installation practices and making tree planting donations to The Woodland Trust to further reduce the overall negative impact that will inevitably be created, increasing the tree planting donations to offset CO2 impacts, when lower impact options are not suitable.
Our aim
Is to create beautifully landscaped gardens and outside spaces, using materials and techniques that help to reduce the CO2 impact of landscaping, by reducing the amount of materials that are removed from a project and thrown into landfill, increase planting which will absorb CO2 as nature intended, but also using plants that encourage insects and pollinators, helping to maintain the natural variation of fauna that is being lost with modern landscaping practices.
When we design a garden or outside space, where practical, we will look to include facilities for attracting a wider range of fauna, water conservation and harvesting, increase the use of plants and plant diversity and in domestic settings, vegetable inclusion and composting, and use materials that will have a generally lower CO2 impact than less environmentally friendly options. When we build a garden or outside space, we aim to use local suppliers where practical, using locally sourced materials, recycled materials and finishing materials that have a lower CO2 impact, to ultimately create a space that will encourage relaxation and escapism, whilst enhancing the local area with diversity of design.
Where we work
Though based in Hampshire, we offer garden design nationwide, though depending on your location, this may be more economically and environmentally prudent to offer designs via locally sourced surveys and telephone/on-line communications and submissions. Larger and commercial projects will be assessed on their individual merit.
The implementation of a smaller designed garden, at this time, will only be offered within a sensible travel radius, larger gardens and commercial projects will be assessed individually.
